Greetings from the American Girl

This is the graph mapping the elevation changes in the Paris Versailles running course. Do you see what happens between kilometers six and eight? A hill. A GIANT HILL. That hill scares me. A LOT. On Sunday, September 25th I'll be tackling this hill with my husband, two friends, and several thousand others. I've come along way since my first race in June, but the 16KM run from the Eiffel Tower to the Chateau at Versailles is making my stomach flutter and we're still five days away. My goal is to get over the hill and finish the race without slowing to a walk. I've told myself I can do a granny shuffle the whole ten miles and be satisfied--so satisfied in fact, that I've promised myself new thermal running tights as a reward! Getting ready for winter includes buying the right work out gear too! Wish me luck mes amis because I'm not convinced I've done enough hill training and may be passing out in the Sun King's garden for a long snooze on Sunday!

If you're curious about the running scene in Paris, trying to find your favorite pair of Asics, or want to know how to fill out a certificat medical for your next race around the Eiffel Tower, hop over to Posted in Paris to read my article on running. Hope you find it helpful!

A bientôt!

Eli--The race is over and for that I am very happy! It went well--no walking so now I get to buy some new running pants for myself :)

Hey I just stumbled upon your blog looking for races and running in France. I'm up north in Valenciennes! I'm sure you've heard of La Parisienne? It's a 6.6km ladies only race every September. I've done it the last 2 years and it's so much fun!
