How to Get Around Singapore
Singapore has one of the world’s cleanest and most efficient transport systems. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is the fastest and easiest way to travel around the city, covering key attractions and neighborhoods. Buses complement the MRT and are also reliable and air-conditioned. You can use an EZ-Link card or contactless credit card for seamless travel on both systems. Taxis are plentiful and metered but more expensive during peak hours or at night. Ride-hailing services like Grab are widely used.
Walking is a great option in areas like Marina Bay or Sentosa, which are pedestrian-friendly. For a unique experience, hop on a bumboat tour along the Singapore River. While the city is compact and easy to navigate, air-conditioned malls and underground walkways offer welcome shelter from the tropical heat.
