You’re here because you’re looking to save money for an upcoming rental car booking. Well you’re in luck because we’re about to break down how Avis rental car coupons and Avis AWD codes work.

What Is An Avis AWD Code?

Best official Avis code
Use code A519319 to get up to 30% off pay now rates and up to 25% off pay later rates.
Best of all, since it’s official, you also don’t need to worry about getting your ID checked!
AWD stands for Avis Worldwide Discount. This is their version of a coupon code or discount code that can be applied to car rental bookings.
There are two types of Avis AWD codes – one is for the general public and these are official promotions and the other are corporate codes that are meant to be for employees of companies to use both for business or leisure.
AWD codes are not to be confused with Avis coupon codes. Avis sometimes will issue separate codes that allow you to stack discounts on top of the AWD. These are typically minor promotions such as car class upgrades.
That said, when people think about Avis rental car coupons, they’re really thinking about AWD codes because these are what give maximum discounts.
We cover this in our guide on car rental corporate codes but as a best practice to find the best deals, we recommend that you start with Discover Cars or RentalCars.com to see all car rental prices in one spot. They’re the Kayak/Skyscanner of car rentals to help you find the cheapest rates.
What You Need to Know About Avis Before You Book
Here are a few things you should know about Avis before you book your car rental.
Prices
Similar to National and Enterprise, the business model is to set inflated prices for people that book directly without a promotion or code. This is different from the discount chains such as Budget.
Also like many of the other car rental companies, there’s now a big push to “Pay Now” for a reduced price. As attractive as this sounds, “it’s a trap!” It’s always a good idea to keep your options open by not locking yourself into a booking or even car rental company. Plans change, sometimes even last minute, and you don’t want to be stuck with a booking. In most cases, all you’ll be saving is $10 or less.
Always “Pay Later” unless you’re 100% sure.
Avis locations
Avis has always been one of our go-to car rental companies because they have locations everywhere.
Not only do they have great coverage throughout North America (both airports and in the city) but they are well established globally including Europe, Asia, the Pacific, South America, Africa and just about everywhere else I haven’t mentioned yet.
This is a consideration for Avis when you’re looking at doing one-way rentals or planning an international trip such as an 8 day itinerary in Iceland, a DIY safari in Kruger National Park, or an epic trip to New Zealand.
Avis Preferred

Lastly, it’s worth mentioning the Avis Preferred program. This is their loyalty program.
By using the Wizard number they issue you on bookings, you can earn 1 point per $1 spent. This goes up to 1.25 points when you get to their Preferred Plus level (after 12 bookings or $5,000 spent). You can then redeem 700 points for a free rental day.
The points program is irrelevant though for most people unless you’re a business traveller. Why it actually matters is because you can skip-the-counter at the Preferred Plus level. When using corporate codes, it’s always best to have the least amount of interaction with service representatives.
Parent company
The parent company to Avis is the Avis Budget Group. The name kind of gives it away but yes Avis and Budget are one company which is why you’ll always see them together at the airport.
What isn’t so obvious is that the parent company also owns Zipcar, Apex Car Rentals (I found out about them in New Zealand), and Payless Car Rentals.
Don’t forget parking at the airport

Something that’s easy to forget in trip planning is how you’re going to get to the airport and if you’re driving your own car, where you’re going to leave it behind.
That’s where booking platforms like Airport Parking Reservations and Park Sleep Fly come into play. Whether you need to get a hotel package that includes parking or just parking itself, they have you covered.
Use the code AWESOME7 to save up to $7 off of your booking.
Compilation of Avis Rental Car Coupons

Now this is why you came here. This is a complete listing of current and tested Avis rental car coupons. We’ve broken them down between the official discounts offered and Avis AWD codes.
We also cover these car rental promo codes for Hertz, Enterprise, National, Budget, Dollar, Thrifty, Europcar, and ACE Rent A Car so make sure to check them out as well.
How to use the below tables
To use the codes, simply click on the “Check code” button on the right side of the table. This copies the Avis AWD code to your computer so you can paste it in the rental car search form.
Official Avis promotions and discounts
For those that want to go the safe route, these are the current deals offered by Avis. They change roughly every quarter or half year.
You’ll find out right away that AWD is A519319 which gives up to 30% off pay-now rates and 25% off base rates.
You can also always check all of Avis’ recent deals.
Avis corporate codes
We’ve had to remove these codes at the request of Avis.
What might be better than corporate codes
While we can’t share the corporate codes themselves, we do have some sneaky good hacks to get you a better deal.
Stack discounts
With Avis, you have the ability to enter AWD numbers and coupon codes. The coupon code field is often forgotten.
PRO TIP: Always use the coupon code MUWA010 to save an additional $15 off your rental 3+ day rental of $175 or more.
Don’t forget about the app
The Avis mobile app also offers built-in discounts just for using it. You can apply an AWD that you have but you can also use the AWD: APPRATE with Coupon: MUWA010.
We heard from one of our readers that he was able to get a much better rate on an Elite SUV rental class and was able to find the best price through this method.
How to Apply Avis AWD Code
Entering the Avis AWD code is pretty easy and luckily it’s not something they try to hide.
When you land on the booking form on the home page, all you have to do is click on “Discount Codes” to reveal the field where you can enter an AWD #.
Other Tips on Saving Money With Avis
Here are a couple of basic tips on car rental savings with Avis.
- Register for Avis Preferred – The real benefits kick in when you get to Preferred Plus level but in past bookings, I’ve gotten expedited pick-up service with just the regular base level. Every bit helps to speed up the process and also spend less time interacting with sales representatives.
- If possible, rent outside the airport – For cities where it’s possible, those airport fees add up. They sneakily call it something ambiguous which is why you’ll see Concession Recovery Fee (11.11% vs 10%) and Customer Facility Charge ($5/day). In parenthesis are examples of the fees at SLC airport. In this example you’re looking at $138.61 vs $69.17 in extra fees for a one-week rental.
- Week rentals sometimes cheaper than 5 or 6 days – Discounts often kick in when you hit a full week so if you’re close to that, try getting a quote for 7 days.
- Use credit card for car rental insurance – Instead of purchasing LDW, leverage your credit card for insurance. Make sure you read your policy beforehand to know what and how you’re covered.
- Refuelling service is never a good idea – Unless you think you’re going to be in a crazy time crunch, always fill up the tank before you return the car. Even if they offer you a temping fuel plan, it’ll always be more expensive than you filling it up by yourself.
Are There Any Codes for Underage Drivers (Under 25)
One thing that Avis is not really good are promotion and codes that eliminate the underage fee for drivers that are under 25. I was not able to find any but if you know any, do leave a comment below.
If you’re under 25, Enterprise promo codes, has better offers.

Avis is unique in that in does have a very thorough partnership with many airlines and their loyalty programs. However this means you need to use a specific AWD code which means you can’t use another code. As a result, your discount won’t be very large.
As an example, with Aeroplan, you can use AWD C682300 for 500 Aeroplan miles per booking at an airport or 250 Aeroplan miles off-airport.
In the fine print, you’ll have to pay an additional Frequent Flyer Surcharge of $0.75 CAD per day, up to $5.25 CAD per booking.
Overall, I’d say it’s not worth it.
Yes, use there has a Veterans Advantage program for veteran and military family members which offers 35% off Pay Now rates.

Don’t get burned by hidden fees on top of terrible exchange rates. When we travel now, we use the Wise Card. Simply load it with the currency you need before you go and use it as a regular VISA or their digital wallet card. Use their free app to track how much you have and top up when you need to.
In our opinion, of all the booking search engines, Skyscanner is the most helpful and easy to use thanks to their Everywhere feature. Kayak is also another that’s we will often check.
If you’re looking to save money, these car rental coupon codes will be a true game-changer. Otherwise, DiscoverCars and Booking’s car rental platform are great places to start.
You probably already have accounts but if you don’t, for new Lyft users, use code WILLIAM4825 to get 50% off your first 2 rides (max $10 per ride). Offer valid for 14 days after you take your first ride. For new Uber users, use code cbh4j6plxt8p for the same offer except it’s valid for 30 days.
You’ll need a spot to leave your car at the airport so why not book a spot at a discount. Use code AWESOME7 to get at least $5 off at Airport Parking Reservations or Park Sleep Fly packages.

We’ve been a huge fan of wifi hotspot devices such as PokeFi (use code GAP24300) because their rates are are hard to beat and it works globally. Solis is another that we recommend. Pros are that you can share the wifi with your whole group but cons are that you have to invest in a device and you have to charge it every night.
Our go-to is Booking.com because they have the best inventory of properties including hotels and B&Bs plus they have their Genius tier discounts. Expedia is also worth using especially with their One Key rewards program which is basically like cash. The exception is Asia where Agoda always has the best prices. Always do a quick check on TripAdvisor as well.
When planning our trips, we always check both Viator and GetYourGuide to at least see what’s out there in the destination that we’re going to. They often have different offerings and prices so check both.

Hi, P974899, is this a corporate code? And do you know who it’s for?
We’re not familiar with that one actually! Does the code yield a good discount for you?
Thanks got an upgrade.
Sweet!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Got 45% off using W222853 for AVIS. Thanx!
Thanks for sharing!
I’m looking to rent from Avis in June 2022. What is the best code you have come across for Avis in June? Thanks!
If you’re willing to Pay Now, code A519319 gives a good discount without having to worry about using a corporate code. This one’s safe for anyone to use.
Do you know the code K075100 ? I got it through browsing at kayak, redirected to book at Avis website and received an email with info:
This reservation was made using a corporate AWD (Avis Worldwide Discount Code) that requires validation of eligibility. Please be prepared to produce your company ID, business card, or a recent email with the company’s email domain (e.g. @xyzcompany.com) for employment verification purposes when picking up your vehicle.
I haven’t encountered this one before but if you got this through Kayak, I can’t see why it isn’t safe to use. I feel like Avis has just put out blanket e-mails for any use of AWDs and if they ask you, you’ll be able to just tell them where you got it. Just curious, how good was the discount?
You mentioned in one of the replies, “There aren’t any specific pre-requisites for making a booking with a code other than knowing that it’s a corporate code and that you need to take all the precautions.”
Can you explain this some more please?
Hi John, for these codes you can insert any AWD code to make a booking and doesn’t require some way of verifying ID on the spot. However, corporate codes should only be used by eligible staff of the affiliated companies. If you aren’t, there is a chance that you will get your ID checked and in the chance that happens, they would revoke your booking and you’ll be charged the walk-in rate. If it does go through, insurance may not cover you if something does happen.
Hi Will. What is code A519319 affiliated with? I tried to google it but nothing came up. The rates are pretty good so I want to make sure it is ok to use. Thanks.
Great question! This one actually isn’t a corporate code so you’re safe to use it without worrying about Avis asking for ID.
retailmenot had the following AWD code: Y109608
Any idea what if it is a public or corporate code? I got no warning in the reservation that it was a corporate code or needed to show any proof of membership to anything.
I tried to do some digging for you but wasn’t able to find the information. I have a feeling it’s a corporate code based on the rate code that shows up in the reservation.
Hey Will,
It’s a tough year for AWD and CDP codes with Hertz and Avis in Europe. Rates seem to be nearly double what I was paying in 2019, so I’m looking at the Discover Cars site for the first time. It’s finding good rates at smaller national rental companies. Do you have any personal experience with Discover Cars, would love to see a review.
Thanks Paolo! Both DiscoverCars and RentalCars seem to be quite similar. RentalCars is actually a subsidiary of Booking so that gives it a bit more “legit” factor to it although I know many people that have used Discover Cars and have had no issue. Both pretty much operate the same way where there’s a partial pre-payment to the platform and then final payment when you pick up the car. Their inventory is slightly different so I always recommend checking both. I have seen that they’re able to offer cheaper prices than booking with the car rental company itself but of course not necessarily cheaper than with the good codes.
Hi – I’m using an AWD from a previous employer to get a discount. I got an email from Avis saying that I needed to be prepared to show a valid company ID of my previous employer. Do you know if they really check this?
Hi Matt, for your previous employer, do you still have your business cards or perhaps a letterhead from the company from your time there? If so, those would be easy for you to show when you check-in. Something else you can look into is the Avis Preferred where there’s the possibility of going straight to your car (depending on the rental location).
Hello,
What are the prerequisites (or the origin) to use the code: B920508
There aren’t any specific pre-requisites for making a booking with a code other than knowing that it’s a corporate code and that you need to take all the precautions. When I looked this one up, I didn’t find what company this was tagged to.
USAA CORP CODE IS A177204 … you must apply your USAA code number. Thanks for the great site Will!
Awesome, thanks for sharing that code with us! I’ve added it to the list!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE Y’ALL 🙏🙏🙏💖
AND THANK YOU FOR THIS ARTICLE 🙂
Lots of good offers out if you look at some of the tables but I really like Budget’s D822119 code which provides 35% off pay now bookings. You’re needing something for tomorrow so “pay now” shouldn’t be an issue.
